Boroondara Council has partnered with a Local Government Program called Solar Savers which was established in 2019 as a not-for-profit organisation assisting households access affordable, high quality solar power and if it is the right solution for your home. Solar Savers offer advice and information on installing roof top solar, selecting reliable experienced local solar installers and eligibility for any rebates or government benefits. The first webinar is on All Electric Homes and will be delivered by Dean Lombard, Senior Energy Analyst at Renew on Tues 22 March at 7pm.
The second is Solar and Batteries for Beginners delivered by an expert from the Australian Energy Foundation is on Wednesday 30 March at 7pm.

On ABC TV a special episode of Catalyst – The Grid – Powering the Future, looked at a number of sustainable sources of power and developments in battery storage. It presented some operating examples of hydro, solar, wind and wave power innovations around Australia with a special focus on the community of Flinders Island that has become completely self-sustaining using solar power and battery storage.
